Rising Fraud Complaints Targeting Texas Dentists: 

The Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE) has received multiple calls from dentists who were the targets of a sophisticated scam. 

The fraudsters, posing as federal investigators, claim that the dentist is under investigation by the FBI. They allege that the dentist's prescription pads were found at the border in stolen vehicles along with illegal drugs. To add legitimacy, the scammers are spoofing a 512 area code that appears on caller ID as "Texas Capitol."
